Job summary

Placements24 is partnering with a major airport authority serving Centurion, Gauteng to recruit an Air Traffic Controller for tower operations. You will manage traffic and provide essential flight information, ensuring safety in a high-pressure environment.

Requires SA CAA ATC licences with aerodrome/approach ratings, accredited ATC training, and at least 3 years of active ATC experience. Shifts rotate, including nights and holidays, with a strong emphasis on safety and professionalism.

Qualifications

• Valid SA CAA licence with aerodrome and approach ratings.
• Completion of an accredited ATC training program.
• Minimum 3 years of active ATC experience.
• Strong knowledge of ICAO standards and local ATC procedures.

Responsibilities

• Control and manage air traffic in the airport vicinity and surrounding airspace.
• Maintain safe separation between aircraft on ground and in the air.
• Issue clearances, advisories, and instructions to pilots.
• Monitor radar displays and surveillance systems.
• Communicate clearly with pilots and other units.
• Oversee airport surface movements including taxiing aircraft.
• Respond to emergencies following established procedures.
• Maintain high situational awareness at all times.
• Review performance and adherence to procedures.
• Support continuous improvement within the ATC unit.
