Blacksmith Agency is building an AI automation layer into every part of how we work. As AI Automation Engineer at Blacksmith, you own and ship our internal automation roadmap. This is a builder role, not a research role.

You will not be training models, you will be building production systems on top of them. You work directly with engineering and delivery leadership to take a documented roadmap of automation workflows and turn them into shipped, working systems.

Qualifications

• 2+ years building production software with Python or Node.js.
• Experience with agent frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen).
• Experience with API integrations (OpenAI/Anthropic) including function calling and tool use.
• Strong REST APIs, webhooks and basic cloud deployment knowledge.
• English sufficient for async written work with a US-based team.

Responsibilities

• Turn documented automation roadmap into shipped production systems.
• Build agentic workflows using LangChain, LangGraph or equivalent frameworks.
• Integrate with OpenAI/Anthropic APIs including tool use and function calling.
• Develop internal tools to reduce manual hours across our production process.
• Create automation pipelines connecting WordPress, Figma, Google Workspace and internal CMS.
• Handle MCP server integrations as part of our AI stack.

This is a builder role, not a research role. You will not be training models, you will be building production systems on top of them.

You work directly with engineering and delivery leadership to take a documented roadmap of automation workflows and turn them into shipped, working systems. This role is for someone who has already built things with LLMs and can show it.

What You Will Build

• Agentic workflows using LangChain, LangGraph or equivalent frameworks.
• Integrations with Anthropic and OpenAI APIs including tool use and function calling.
• Internal tools that reduce manual hours across our design and development production process.
• Automation pipelines connecting WordPress, Figma, Google Workspace and our internal CMS.
• MCP server integrations as part of our broader AI stack.

What You Bring

• 2+ years building production software with Python or Node.js.
• Hands-on experience with LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen or similar agent frameworks.
