Job summary

Blacksmith Agency is hiring an AI Software Engineer to own and ship our internal automation roadmap. This builder role focuses on production systems atop AI models, not model training, and involves implementing agent-based workflows and integrations.

You will connect LangChain/LangGraph with OpenAI/Anthropic APIs, build internal tools, and automate workflows across design and development processes. Remote collaboration with a US-based team is expected.

Qualifications

• 2+ years building production software with Python or Node.js.
• Hands-on experience with agent frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen).
• Proven API integration work with OpenAI or Anthropic (function calling, tool use, streaming).
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks and basic cloud deployment.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship internal automation features on top of AI models.

What You Will Build

• Agentic workflows using LangChain, LangGraph or equivalent frameworks.
• Integrations with Anthropic and OpenAI APIs including tool use and function calling.
• Internal tools that reduce manual hours across our design and development production process.
• Automation pipelines connecting WordPress, Figma, Google Workspace and our internal CMS.
• MCP server integrations as part of our broader AI stack.

What You Bring

• 2+ years building production software with Python or Node.js.
• Hands-on experience with LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen or similar agent frameworks.
• Proven API integration work with OpenAI or Anthropic (function calling, tool use, streaming).
