Job summary

Blacksmith Agency is building an AI automation layer into every part of how we work. As AI Integration Engineer at Blacksmith, you own and ship our internal automation roadmap. This builder role focuses on production systems on top of AI models, not model training.

You collaborate with engineering and delivery leadership to turn a documented automation roadmap into shipped, working systems, evidenced by prior builds with LLMs.

Qualifications

• 2+ years building production software with Python or Node.js.
• Hands-on experience with LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen or similar agent frameworks.
• Proven API integration work with OpenAI or Anthropic (function calling, tool use, streaming).
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks and basic cloud deployment.
• English sufficient for async written work with a US-based team.

Responsibilities

• Take documented automation roadmaps and turn them into shipped, working systems.
• Build agentic workflows using LangChain, LangGraph or equivalent frameworks.
• Integrate with OpenAI and Anthropic APIs including tool use and function calling.
• Develop internal tools to reduce manual hours across our design and development production process.
• Create automation pipelines connecting WordPress, Figma, Google Workspace and our internal CMS.

About The Role

Blacksmith Agency is building an AI automation layer into every part of how we work. As AI Integration Engineer at Blacksmith, you own and ship our internal automation roadmap. This is a builder role, not a research role. You will not be training models, you will be building production systems on top of them.

You work directly with engineering and delivery leadership to take a documented roadmap of automation workflows and turn them into shipped, working systems. This role is for someone who has already built things with LLMs and can show it.

What You Will Build

• Agentic workflows using LangChain, LangGraph or equivalent frameworks.
• Integrations with Anthropic and OpenAI APIs including tool use and function calling.
• Internal tools that reduce manual hours across our design and development production process.
• Automation pipelines connecting WordPress, Figma, Google Workspace and our internal CMS.
• MCP server integrations as part of our broader AI stack.

What You Bring
