Placements24 is seeking a Purchasing Coordinator for our agricultural client in Paarl, Western Cape. The role focuses on procurement of fertilizers, seeds, equipment, and related inputs, coordinating with operations and logistics to keep inventory balanced and deliveries on time.

The ideal candidate holds a Diploma or Certificate in Supply Chain, Business Admin, or Agriculture, with at least two years in purchasing or procurement, and strong Excel and Office skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Certificate in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or Agriculture.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a purchasing, procurement, or administrative role.
• Experience in the agricultural sector is highly advantageous.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data management.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Process purchase requisitions and generate purchase orders for agricultural supplies, equipment, and services.
• Source and compare quotations from approved suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and quality.
• Coordinate with suppliers to schedule deliveries and ensure timely receipt of goods.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier performance in the procurement system.
• Assist in managing inventory levels of agricultural inputs, preventing shortages or overstocking.
• Liaise with internal departments to understand needs and resolve issues.
• Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and budget constraints.
• Monitor supplier performance and communicate any discrepancies or quality issues.
• Assist in identifying new potential suppliers for agricultural inputs.
• Support the purchasing team with administrative tasks and data entry.
