Placements24 is seeking a knowledgeable Agricultural Agronomist to support growers in the Polokwane region. The role combines field consultations with remote technical support to optimize planting, fertilization, pest control, and harvesting strategies tailored to local conditions.

You will analyze soil and crop health, advise on irrigation and crop management, and share sustainable practices to help farmers achieve higher yields and better produce quality while working in a hybrid setup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Plant Science, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Agronomist or Crop Consultant.
• Strong knowledge of plant physiology, soil science, and IPM.
• Familiarity with crop modeling software and data analysis tools.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective farmer engagement.

Responsibilities

• Conduct soil and plant tissue analysis to assess nutrient levels and identify deficiencies or toxicities.
• Develop and recommend tailored fertilization programs and crop rotation plans.
• Monitor crop development, identify potential pest and disease outbreaks, and advise on management strategies.
