Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Agribusiness Development Manager for its Mahikeng operations. The role focuses on identifying, developing, and managing projects that improve farmer livelihoods, market access, and sustainable growth across crop value chains.

You will work with farmers, cooperatives, processors, and government agencies to drive efficiency, innovation, and competitiveness in the North West region. Strategic planning and hands-on project implementation are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in agribusiness development or related role.
• Strong understanding of value chain analysis and market dynamics.
• Excellent project management, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities within targeted agricultural value chains.
• Manage agribusiness development projects from inception to completion within budget and schedule.
• Build and maintain relationships with farmers, cooperatives, buyers, and government agencies.
• Conduct market analysis and value chain assessments to identify bottlenecks and opportunities.
• Provide training to farmers on business management, financial literacy, and market access.
• Facilitate linkages between farmers and markets, including contract negotiations and quality assurance.
• Monitor project performance and financial sustainability, reporting progress and outcomes.
