Placements24 is seeking an Aftercare Program Coordinator & Educator for a well-established primary school in Upington, Northern Cape. You will manage after-school activities, supervise children aged 6-12, and liaise with parents to ensure safety and engagement after regular school hours.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in childcare, teaching, or leading after-school programs.
• A qualification in Early Childhood Development, Education, or a related field is an advantage.
• Demonstrated ability to plan and lead engaging activities for primary school children.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patient, responsible, and reliable demeanor.
• Ability to work effectively with children, parents, and school staff.
• First Aid and CPR certification is required.
• Must be able to work during aftercare hours (typically afternoons).
• A genuine commitment to the welfare and development of children.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and implement a variety of age-appropriate activities, including homework assistance, arts and crafts, sports, and games.
• Supervise children aged 6-12 in a safe and structured aftercare environment.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times.
• Manage daily routines, including snack time and quiet activities.
• Maintain effective communication with parents regarding their child's participation and any concerns.
• Liaise with school administration and teachers regarding program operations.
• Respond to emergencies and administer basic first aid if necessary.
• Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere for all children.
• Adhere to all school policies and safety regulations.
