Job summary

Thales Aerospace Communications in Cape Town is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the development of aeronautical products from concept to production handover, following LCM processes and methods. You will plan, execute and control multidisciplinary tasks, manage budgets, milestones, and risks, and report progress to senior management.

The role requires a degree in Electronic Engineering and substantial PM experience in aerospace or related high-tech industries.

Qualifications

BScEng or equivalent degree in Electronic Engineering.
Significant experience in Engineering Project Management.
Experience in aerospace/defence or similar industries.
Experience in developing electronics products and/or embedded SW/HW.
Knowledge of DO-178 and DO-252 would be a plus.
Strong organizational, planning and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

Plan, execute and control project tasks allocated to various disciplines to ensure delivery within the allocated timeline and processes.
Develop the overall budget including staffing requirements.
Ensure that each programme meets the stated objectives.
Monitor, control and manage tasks to ensure adherence to the LCM process.
Identify and communicate project critical paths and major risks (KPI).
Coordinate with sub-contractors when required during development.
Work with customers and/or support program management to ensure agreed deliverables and milestones are met.
