Job summary

Brits, North West – South Africa. The Beekman Group seeks an Adventure Activity Guide to oversee and coordinate adventure sports at Dikhololo Resort. You will manage staff, promote safety standards, and ensure outstanding guest experiences across quad biking, ziplining, hiking, and family water activities.

Responsibilities include planning daily programs, risk assessments, customer service, and upselling resort facilities. Must have first aid, OHSA awareness, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Matric or Grade 12 (Compulsory).
• Child minding experience (Advantage).
• Previous experience in adventure activities, tourism, hospitality, recreation, guiding or a similar environment.
• A basic understanding of Quad Bikes and Zipline operations.
• Ability to lead games and activities for kids and families.
• Public speaking.
• Computer literacy and Audio-visual expertise.
• Proficiency in Crisis management.
• Safety and security act (OHSA).
• First Aid training/certification.
• Valid Driver's Licence.

• Lead groups on outdoor excursions and provide information on flora, fauna and geography.
• Develop and implement daily adventure sports programs; ensure safety and compliance.
• Perform safety inspections and risk assessments of equipment and facilities.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and address inquiries and complaints promptly.
• Oversee maintenance of facilities and equipment; assist with bookings and promotions.

To provide extraordinary services to our Resorts Guests in the form of leisure, recreational and adventure sports activities while overseeing and managing all aspects of adventure sports activities within an organization. This role involves coordinating, planning, and executing various adventure sports programs, ensuring safety standards, managing staff, and providing exceptional customer experiences. The Adventure Activity Guide plays a key role in promoting adventure sports and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.

Key Performance Areas

• Assisting with activities such as Quad Biking, Ziplining, hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, kayaking and other outdoor experiences.
• leading groups on outdoor excursions, providing information on flora, fauna, and geography. Responsibilities include ensuring safety, interpreting nature, and enhancing participants' outdoor experience. Strong knowledge of local ecosystems, navigation skills, and first aid are essential. Excellent communication abilities are crucial for fostering an enjoyable and educational hiking experience.
• Daily program development, design, plan, and implement adventure sports programs such as rock climbing, kayaking, zip-lining, mountain biking, and other outdoor activities.
• Ensure all adventure sports activities comply with safety regulations and industry standards.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments of equipment and facilities.
• Provide exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries, complaints, and feedback promptly and professionally.
• Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of adventure sports facilities and equipment.
• Assist in taking equipment and activity bookings.
• Assist with promotions, functions, and events.
• To be pro-active and use initiative with customer service and complaints.
• Ensure prescribed standards are maintained in terms of maintenance, security, marketing, public relations, operations, water safety and hygiene within the prescribed working area
• Up sell all Resort facilities.
• Child mind kids - Love for Children - Facilitate and arrange kids and family water sport entertainment games and activities.

Minimum Qualifications And Experience
