EdUpStairs in Cape Town seeks a Financial Clerk to manage creditors and asset/liability accounting. You will capture payments, verify documentation, and reconcile accounts while maintaining compliance with PFMA and department instructions.

The role requires a Senior Certificate with math or accounting, strong numerical skills, and the ability to apply policies. Overtime may be required depending on workloads, and computer literacy is essential.

• Senior Certificate with Mathematics or Accountancy as a passed subject or equivalent experience.
• Experience in Financial Management focusing on Creditor Management and Asset & Liability Accounting.

Responsabilidades

• Capture and process Logis and BAS payments on receipt in line with PFMA and departmental instructions.
• Verify accuracy, completeness and validity of payment documentation.
• Batch and file supporting documentation.
• Resolve supplier and management queries promptly.
• Reconcile creditors’ statements monthly and remit payments.
• Monitor and clear Asset and Liability accounts monthly.
• Process journals to correct expenditure.
• Allocate expenditure to correct SCOA codes.
• Provide assistance within Finance and Supply Chain Management.

• Minimum educational qualification: Senior Certificate (or equivalent) with Mathematics or Accountancy as a passed subject or Senior Certificate (or equivalent) with experience/competencies that focuses on the Key Performance Areas (KRA’s) of the post.
• Experience: Appropriate Experience in Financial Management, specifically focused on Creditor Management and Asset & Liability Accounting.
• Inherent requirements of the job: Willingness to work overtime when required.

Duties

• Capturing and processing of Logis and BAS payments on receipt and in compliance to the PFMA, NTR’s, PTI’s and Departmental Finance Instructions and Circulars.
• Confirming accuracy, completeness and validity of payment supporting documentation.
• Batching and filing of supporting documentation.
• Timeous resolution of supplier and management queries.
• Reconciliation of Creditors’ Statements monthly and remittance of payments made.
• Monitoring and clearing of Asset and Liability accounts reporting on a monthly basis.
• Processing of Journals to correct incorrect expenditure.
• Allocation of expenditure according to the correct SCOA.
• Provide assistance and support within the Finance and Supply Chain Management components.
