Job summary

Headhunters in the Eastern Cape seeks a seasoned Financial Accountant to join our citrus packing and export finance team. The role focuses on cost control, accurate producer payments, reconciliations, and general ledger integrity within a fast-growing agricultural FMCG environment.

The successful candidate will manage accounts payable/receivable, cash flow planning, and currency-related banking activities, with hands-on experience in Syspro and QX. On-site role based in Kirkwood, South Africa.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field will be advantageous.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a financial accounting role, preferably within agriculture, fruit exports, or FMCG.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting and reconciliation processes.
• Experience with foreign currency transactions and banking processes will be advantageous.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and exposure to ERP/accounting systems such as Syspro and QX.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the configuration and administration of Citrus time pools within internal systems.
• Prepare and process producer payments and remittance statements accurately and timeously.
• Reconcile sales, commission, and general ledger accounts.
• Process commercial invoices and manage balance sheet control accounts.
• Assist with cash flow planning and foreign exchange transaction monitoring.
• Supervise foreign currency bank accounts and related currency contracts.
• Administer debtors and creditors in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Maintain strong working knowledge of the company's operational and financial systems relevant to citrus packing and export activities.
• Monitor and interpret overseas market performance to support financial planning and reporting.
