Job summary

Nelson Mandela University is seeking an Assistant Librarian for the George Library Campus to strengthen service delivery, improve user support and oversee circulation and information services. The role requires 2 years of related experience in an academic library and a relevant library science qualification.

You will assist with training, orientation and information inquiries, ensuring efficient access to library resources and smooth daily operations at the George Campus Library.

Qualifications

Grade 12 (Matriculation Certification)
M+ 3 qualifications in Library Science or equivalent (advantageous)
Required Minimum Experience: 2 years library experience in circulation, information and training services at an academic library.
Must have worked experience in an academic library.

Responsibilities

Strengthen library service delivery and user support.
Manage circulation and information services desk operations.
Provide information inquiries assistance and guide users to resources.
Deliver information services and training on a one-on-one basis.
Assist Information Librarian with training and orientation activities.
Support the George Campus Library in daily operations.
