Job summary

Nelson Mandela University’s George Campus Library seeks a front-line Information and Circulation Assistant to support students and staff with access to resources and library systems. You will manage circulation desk tasks, assist with shelving, and guide users in finding information.

This role requires Grade 12, at least 1 year of related library experience, and own transport. Weekend work is required as part of the duties at the George Campus Library.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 / Matriculation is required.
• At least 1 year of related professional library experience in circulation and information services at an academic library.
• Own transport is required.

Responsibilities

• Issue and receive library materials according to procedures.
• Process returns, renewals and other circulation transactions.
• Assist users with circulation-related queries and resolve routine service queries.
• Maintain circulation records and follow up on overdue materials.
