Job summary

TSU Protection Services in Franschhoek seeks a Security Officer to patrol, control access, monitor entrances, and respond to incidents to keep facilities safe and orderly.

The role requires PSIRA registration (Grade B), Grade 12, and fluency in English and Afrikaans, with the ability to work independently. Residency in Franschhoek/Paarl area and clearance checks are required.

Qualifications

• PSIRA registered security officer with Grade B or higher and up-to-date status.
• Grade 12 education or equivalent literacy and numeracy.
• Ability to communicate in English and Afrikaans, both written and verbal.
• Physically fit to stand and walk for long hours.
• Clean criminal record and reliable with checks.
• Must reside in Franschhoek or around Paarl for mobility.
• Pass recruitment tests, including aptitude and background checks.
• Experience with ATG scanning devices is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Patrol premises regularly to maintain order and establish presence.
• Manage access control and monitor entrances for vehicles and people.
• Respond to alarms and investigate suspicious activity.
• Secure all exits, doors and windows after operations.
• Monitor surveillance cameras and report disruptions.
• Prepare and submit daily surveillance reports.
• Detain perpetrators per legal protocol until authorities arrive.

Security Officer

TSU is recruiting for a Security Officer for one of our sites in Franschhoek. A security officer must be well-trained in surveillance and dealing with perpetrators. The ideal candidate will inspire respect and authority as well as possess a high level of observation.

The goal is to help the company in maintaining excellent working conditions by keeping facilities safe and problem-free.

Responsibilities

• Patrol premises regularly to maintain order and establish presence
• Access control
• Monitor and authorize entrance of vehicles or people in the property
• Remove wrongdoers or trespassers from the area
• Secure all exits, doors and windows after end of operations
• Check surveillance cameras periodically to identify disruptions or unlawful acts
• Investigate people for suspicious activity or possessions
• Respond to alarms by investigating and assessing the situation
• Provide assistance to people in need

• Apprehend and detain perpetrators according to legal protocol before arrival of authorities
• Submit reports of daily surveillance activity and important occurrences

Minimum Requirements

• Grade B - Psira registered and up to date.
• Grade 12.
• Able to communicate in English and Afrikaans - written and verbal.
• Physically fit - able to stand/walk for long hours.
• Neat and presentable.
• Clear criminal record.
• Suitable candidates must pass all recruitment checks - aptitude test, interviews, background checks etc.
• Must reside in or around the Franschhoek or Paarl area.
