Our Security Officers provide a visible, professional and discreet 24-hour security presence for The Royal Portfolio in Cape Town. This includes managing the security at offices and residential estates for the executives. The Security Officers will monitor the control room, conduct patrols, respond to alarm activations and any incidents, acting as the first point of contact for any security matter on property, 24 hours a day. The Security Officers will also be available for after-hours transport for the executive team.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Control room monitoring
- Control room monitored continuously with zero unattended periods during a shift
- 100% of CCTV, alarm and access control alerts logged and actioned within 5 minutes
- Shift monitoring log completed accurately for every shift
Patrolling
- 100% of scheduled security checks and walkabouts completed each shift
- All patrol findings (faults, risks, suspicious activity) logged and reported within the same shift
- Zero missed perimeter or access point checks per roster period
Responding to incidents
- 100% of alarm activations (estate or head office) responded to within 5 minutes, at any time of day or night
- Armed response company contacted and coordinated within 2 minutes of a confirmed incident
- Incident report completed and submitted within 24 hours of every activation
Incident resolution
- 100% of residents, staff and visitor security queries acknowledged within 10 minutes
- Zero unresolved complaints relating to officer conduct or responsiveness per quarter
- Positive feedback maintained from estate management on service delivery
Driving and transfers
- All scheduled after hours airport transfers completed on time with zero missed transfers or wait times
- Zero at fault vehicle incidents while driving or transporting guests/ residents/ staff
- Vehicle pre-and post-trip checks completed for every transfer
Communication
- 100% of shift handovers completed with full, accurate handover notes
- All incidents and significant events reported to residents and management within agreed timelines
- Zero communication gaps identified during shift or handover audits
REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
- PSIRA Grade C registration with the associated firearm competency
- Previous experience as an armed private security officer working in a private residential estate or corporate office environment
- Experience working rotating shift patterns as part of 24-hour coverage
- Competent operating CCTV, alarm and access control systems
- Valid driver's license with safe night-driving ability
- Skilled in basic incident reporting and documentation
- Physically able to conduct foot patrols in all weather conditions
- Excellent verbal and written communication in English
- Remains alert, calm and professional at all times, especially during incidents
- Communicates clearly and respectfully with residents, staff and visitors or guests
- Acts with honesty and discretion given the sensitive nature of estate security
- Takes ownership of shift responsibilities and follows through without close supervision
- Physically fit, neat in appearance and presentable at all times

South African citizenship is advantageous. A valid work permit is essential if you are not in possession of a South African ID document.
