Job summary

Icebolethu Group in Bloemfontein is seeking vigilant and professional Security Guards to protect premises, employees, visitors, assets and equipment. You will maintain a strong security presence, perform patrols, monitor CCTV and respond promptly to alarms and incidents.

Applicants must reside in or around Bloemfontein, hold Grade 12, be PSIRA registered, have at least 2 years' security experience, be physically fit, and have training in First Aid/BLS; firearms competency and defensive driving

Qualifications

• Must reside in or around Bloemfontein.
• PSIRA registration/certification required.
• Minimum 2 years of proven experience as a Security Guard or Security Officer.
• Physical health and fitness; First Aid / Basic Life Support (BLS) training.
• Firearms competency and advanced/defensive driving skills are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Access control and regular patrols of premises, visitors, vehicles, exits and windows.
• Surveillance and monitoring of CCTV; proactive identification of security breaches.
• Rapid incident response and investigation; assist people in distress; de-escalate situations.
• Apprehension and ejection of trespassers in cooperation with law enforcement as needed.
• Maintain daily logs, write clear incident reports for management.

Job description

Icebolethu Group is seeking a vigilant, authoritative, and professional Security Guards to safeguard our premises, employees, visitors, assets, and equipment in Bloemfontein. The ideal candidates will maintain a strong, visible security presence, conduct active surveillance, detect suspicious behavior, and prevent vandalism, theft, or criminal activities to ensure a safe work environment.

• Access Control & Patrols:Monitor and authorize entry/exit for visitors and vehicles. Conduct regular foot patrols to maintain order and secure all exits, doors, and windows post-operations.


• Surveillance & Monitoring:Check CCTV systems and operate communication equipment to proactively identify security breaches, disruptions, or unlawful acts.


• Incident Response & Investigation:Respond rapidly to alarms, investigate suspicious individuals or activities, assist people in distress, and handle security situations calmly and effectively.


• Apprehension & Ejection:Remove trespassers from the premises and detain perpetrators in accordance with legal protocols until law enforcement arrives.


• Reporting & Administration:Maintain daily logs of surveillance activities, log occurrences, and write clear, accurate incident reports for management.

• Education:Grade 12 / Matric essential.


• Certification:Valid PSIRA registration/certification.


• Experience:Minimum 2 years of proven experience as a Security Guard or Security Officer.


• Technical Skills:Tech-savvy with practical experience operating surveillance systems (CCTV) and security communication equipment.


• Physical & Tactical Training:Physical health and fitness; certified in Self-Defense and First Aid / Basic Life Support (BLS).


• Firearms & Driving (Advantageous):Valid Firearm Competency (Handgun, Shotgun, or Rifle) and Advanced/Defensive driving skills are highly advantageous.


• Core Competencies:Strong observation skills, legal knowledge of area security/public safety protocols, solid report-writing abilities, and excellent verbal communication.
