Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled 5G Network Deployment Engineer to contribute to the expansion of a cutting-edge mobile network in Pretoria. You will deploy, configure, and optimize 5G infrastructure across RAN and core network elements, collaborating with planning, operations, and vendor teams to ensure timely rollout.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering or Telecommunications and at least four years of experience in mobile network deployment, with 4G/LTE and 5G experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in mobile network deployment, with 4G/LTE and 5G experience.
• Strong understanding of 5G NR standards, RAN architecture and core network functions (AMF, SMF, UPF).
• Hands-on experience with network planning tools, configuration management and troubleshooting methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end deployment of 5G RAN equipment and core network components.
• Perform site surveys, installation supervision, commissioning and integration of new 5G base stations.
• Configure and optimize network parameters to meet performance, coverage and capacity targets.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during deployment and early operations.
• Collaborate with vendor engineers and internal teams to ensure timely project completion and adherence to specifications.
• Develop and maintain deployment plans, progress reports and technical documentation.
