Job summary

Vodacom in Port Elizabeth is seeking a Network Planning Manager to lead the design, optimization, and deployment of Vodacom's RAN and core infrastructure in the Port Elizabeth region.

You will partner with engineering, procurement, construction, and regulatory teams to rollout new sites, capacity upgrades, and technology migrations, shaping coverage and service quality while advancing 5G rollout and broadband reach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in telecom network planning with leadership experience.
• Experience managing 5G/LTE rollouts in SA or comparable markets.
• PMP or vendor-specific training desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement network planning strategies aligned with regional needs.
• Lead feasibility studies, RF design for new sites and upgrades.
• Coordinate drive-tests, coverage analysis, and performance optimization.
• Manage end-to-end project lifecycle: budgeting, scheduling, risk management.
• Ensure compliance with SA regulations and spectrum licensing.
• Collaborate with vendors on equipment specs and roadmaps.
• Prepare technical reports and dashboards for leadership.
• Mentor junior planners and promote knowledge sharing.
