Job summary

Boardroom Appointments seeks a Technical Applications Specialist in Sandton, Gauteng. You will provide technical support for multiple business applications and integrations, install new apps, upgrade existing systems and troubleshoot issues affecting operations.

You should have an IT-related degree, ITIL foundation, and 4–6 years in technical applications support. The role emphasizes 24/7 availability, security, change management, and close collaboration with business users and owners.

Qualifications

• IT-related bachelor’s degree or diploma
• MCSE / A+ / N+ an advantage
• ITIL foundation
• 4–6 years in Technical Applications Support
• Strong knowledge of business systems
• Understanding of technical design and workings of application solutions
• Technical architecture and design
• Knowledge of infrastructure components (network, storage, virtual servers, backups)
• Knowledge of Windows Server operating systems
• Knowledge of relational database management
• Experience with Oracle JDE, Transform, DSI Barcoding, OnBase

Responsibilities

• Responsible for a list of supported applications from the organization’s portfolio
• Ensure that supported business applications are operationally healthy, maintained and optimized
• Ensure availability of supported applications 24/7
• Troubleshoot and test supported applications
• Deploy software changes for supported applications to production
• Handle patching for applications and servers
• Perform Disaster Recovery activities and draft data recovery documentation
• Provide operational support to business users and analysts
• Configure systems/applications
• Upgrade activities for supported applications (back-ups, installation configurating, test plan and change management)
• Conduct fault finding, diagnosing and bug fixing
• Ensure security of systems/applications and manage access based on SAR
• Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver best service from IM
