Job summary

Fort Wayne Zoo is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician to perform technical, general, and preventative maintenance across facilities, rides, and grounds. You will handle carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and vehicle maintenance, with snow removal duties as needed.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and experience in at least three maintenance areas. You will work year-round, including weekends and holidays, ensuring safety and guest satisfaction

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to insure and operate Zoo vehicles is required.
• Three years maintenance experience in three of six fields is preferred: carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, automotive, or rides.

Responsibilities

• Performs maintenance tasks in carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and fabrication.
• Maintains rides and vehicles and operates equipment as needed.
• Ensures compliance with safety regulations and SOPs.
• Maintains cleanliness of public and back-of-house areas.
• Assists with special projects and supports guest experiences.
