Job summary

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in urban planning or related field and at least one year of urban planning experience, with a focus on clear communication and accurate record-keeping.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning, Architecture, Public Administration, or related field required.
• One year of full-time experience in Urban Planning or related field required.
• (Substitution: 1 year post‑graduate education may substitute for experience.)

Responsibilities

• Staff the front desk and provide general customer service support.
• Respond to zoning inquiries via phone and email, aiding residents, contractors, and officials.
• Explain application processes, required documents, and submission steps.
• Conduct initial triage and identify missing information before review.
• Assist with zoning verification requests and letters.
• Perform routine zoning reviews (fences, simple residential apps) as assigned.
• Maintain records and track recurring customer issues.
• Support permit reviewers with administrative tasks.
• All other duties as assigned.
