City of Bay City seeks a Full-Time Zoning Technician to support planning and zoning administration and serve as the primary public contact on zoning compliance. The role involves reviewing permits, site plans, and enforcing zoning as needed.

Responsibilities include GIS data tasks, records management, aiding with code updates, and acting as liaison to the Zoning Board of Appeals. A high school diploma and municipal zoning experience are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; or an associate degree with related coursework.
• 2 years municipal planning or zoning experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Skill in reviewing and interpreting plans, blueprints and specifications.

Responsabilités

• Provide information and guidance on zoning regulations to the public.
• Review building, sign, fence permits, site plans for zoning compliance.
• Serve as staff liaison to the Zoning Board of Appeals.
• Maintain records and assist with plan review, inspection and enforcement activity.
• Assist with updating city code and responding to inquiries.
