Job summary

The City of Laredo is seeking a Zoning Enforcement Supervisor to lead a team of zoning officers, oversee investigations, and enforce building and zoning codes. You will supervise staff, coordinate field operations, and participate in investigations and ride-alongs to issue citations.

The role requires excellent customer service, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage records, reports, and training.

Qualifications

Requires an Associate's degree or 60 college hours in Criminal Justice, Business Administration, or related fields.
Five years of zoning enforcement, investigations, or related experience preferred.
Proficiency with standard office software and report writing.

Responsibilities

Supervises, directs, and evaluates Zoning Enforcement staff and manages hiring considerations.
Enforces building and zoning violations and conducts investigations to issue citations.
Provides customer service related to business registrations, permits, and applications; prepares reports and attends meetings.
Maintains records and prepares periodic reports on work orders, investigations, and activities.
Oversees amusement machine applications and ensures compliance with regulations.
Must be able to drive a City vehicle for city business.
