Qualifications

• Supervisory experience required.
• Experience conducting inspections and investigations of residential, commercial, and industrial properties.
• Ability to maintain accurate case documentation and to testify in court when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Conduct code compliance inspections and investigations across residential, commercial, and industrial properties.
• Serve as lead staff member for commercial code enforcement and coordinate with officers.
• Enforce applicable IPMC standards and address nuisances, trash, and unsafe conditions.
• Prepare notices, citations, correspondence, reports, and other enforcement documents.
• Interact with residents, property owners, businesses, and stakeholders to explain code requirements and corrective actions.
• Maintain complete case records and testify in court when needed.
• Coordinate daily activities of Code Compliance Officers, assign districts, monitor performance, and perform quality checks.
• Be available for emergency and after-hours inspections as required.
