The City of Riverside seeks a Zoning Administrator to interpret, explain, and enforce the City’s zoning codes and ordinances. The role collaborates with internal departments, city officials, and community members to promote growth and shape the community’s future.

Responsibilities include processing inquiries, administering zoning and permitting programs, preparing reports and presentations, and guiding development reviews with the Planning Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in urban planning, public administration, or related field.
• AICP certification or ability to obtain within a reasonable time.
• Strong understanding of zoning principles and applications.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office; familiarity with GIS preferred but not required.

Aufgaben

• Provide zoning administrative support to the public by answering questions and processing information requests.
• Oversee, interpret, and enforce the zoning code and permitting process.
• Administer the City’s zoning, code enforcement, and permitting programs.
• Prepare reports, maps, and other visual aids to support plans and projects.
• Conduct research and data analysis related to zoning regulations and plans.
• Implement local Floodplain regulations and NFIP-related activities.
• Prepare presentations for Planning Commission and other boards.
