Position Overview:
The Zone Team Leader (ZTL) is responsible for guiding and directing the successful operation of a specific zone within the retail sales floor of a store. The ZTL oversees a team passionate about merchandising, selling merchandise, and ensuring an exceptional associate and customer experience. Responsibilities include all aspects of merchandising and customer service oversight.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Execute established procedures for their assigned store zone, including merchandising (power aisle compliance, MOS/GVC/Ollie’s Follies), signage, displays, replenishment, pricing, ad sets, and daily recovery.
- Ensure store standards, Ops Center compliance, seasonal transition planning, inventory processes, and company programs meet operational expectations.
- Oversee the Door to Floor process to ensure merchandise is received and stocked properly and timely.
- Supervise associates within the assigned zone.
- Assign daily tasks to associates and monitor productivity.
- Ensure customer service standards meet company expectations.
- Manage scheduling and staffing for merchandise unloading and processing.
- Communicate company directives and follow-up on tasks.
- Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- At least two years of supervisory retail experience in a mid-size to large retail or service-oriented business
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays on-site/in person
- Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking)
- Sound judgment and confidentiality
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Organizational and prioritization skills within strict deadlines
- Knowledge of industry terms and processes
- Effective communication and delegation skills
- Excellent interpersonal and listening skills
Physical Requirements:
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds
