Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Zone Manufacturing Engineer to provide senior technical leadership from concept through launch in a General Assembly zone. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field; equivalent relevant manufacturing experience considered.
• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, process engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience leading complex manufacturing projects from concept through launch and production.
• Proficiency in GMS principles, DFM, PFMEA, and lean manufacturing practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead zone ownership and launch execution for new programs and model changes within General Assembly.
• Define tooling, equipment, automation, conveyance, facilities, and process requirements for launches.
• Develop and implement robust manufacturing processes using lean and Process Engineering methodologies.
• Lead Value Stream Mapping (VSM) to improve material flow, identify bottlenecks, and reduce lead times.
• Ensure safety, quality, and cost targets; oversee documentation, governance, and supplier coordination.
