Job summary

General Motors in Bowling Green, KY is seeking a Zone Manufacturing Engineer to provide senior technical leadership for a General Assembly zone from concept through launch and steady-state production.

You will apply advanced manufacturing, lean, and GMS principles to optimize safety, quality, delivery, cost, and performance, while mentoring engineering and production partners and driving sustainable improvements.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field.
5+ years of experience in manufacturing, process engineering, or a related discipline.
Proven ability to independently lead complex manufacturing projects from concept through launch and production.
Strong knowledge of Lean, DFM, PFMEA, and GMS principles.

Responsibilities

Provide technical ownership and leadership for a defined General Assembly zone.
Lead complex launch and manufacturing projects from concept through installation and production.
Define tooling, equipment, automation, and process requirements for launches.
Establish project strategies, milestones, risks, and recovery plans.
Lead build events and resolve launch issues with lessons learned applied.
Provide technical direction to engineers and production partners.
Collaborate with design and automation teams on HMI requirements.
