Job summary

Summitbsa in Glen Jean, WV, seeks a Zip Ride Manager to lead a large team of seasonal tour guides and oversee the operation of the zip rides at The Summit.

You will train staff for safety and fun, manage paperwork and inventory, monitor equipment, and participate in staff evaluations and disciplinary actions. This role requires strong customer service, teamwork, and adaptability in a fast-paced outdoor environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 21+.
• Must hold COPE Director National Camp School Card (training provided).
• Willing to become a registered Scouting America member with background screening.
• Experience with zip line operations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and train a large team of seasonal tour guides for safe, fun zip ride programs.
• Manage paperwork, logs, and inventory for the program.
• Monitor equipment and facility conditions, reporting deficiencies.

Position Overview

In cooperation with fellow Zip Ride Manager, is responsible for leading a large energetic group of seasonal tour guides and oversees the operation and management of the zip rides at The Summit.

Key Responsibilities

• Train and manage staff so that they have the knowledge to carry out a safe and fun program
• Responsible for all paperwork, logs, and inventory control for the program
• Monitor equipment and facility conditions and report and deficiencies to Aerial Director
• Participate in periodic performance evaluations of staff and in disciplinary actions
• Effectively maintain a training and practitioner experience portfolio
• Model the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactions

• Maintain a clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe work area
• Perform additional duties assigned by SBR leadership

• Abide by policies and procedures outlined in the SBR staff handbook

Qualifications

• Minimum age: 21+
• Required: C.O.P.E. Director National Camp School Card (training provided)
• Preferred: Documented Zip Line work experience
• Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening)
• Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communication

Physical & Practical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, and hike up to 9 hours daily and ability to lift/move up to 70 pounds
• Complete the Annual Health and Medical Record, including height/weight guidelines
• Housing: 10'x12' platform tent in Staff Camp | Uniform: Summit Staff Uniform | Work Hours: 45-55
