Job summary

Hearst Media Production Group in Glendale, CA, seeks a Video Audience Development Manager (freelance) to own the Lucky Dog YouTube strategy, optimize engagement and drive revenue. You will collaborate with producers to translate data-backed trends into practical production improvements while evangelizing best practices across teams.

The role reports to the Senior Vice President, Licensing and Distribution and requires on-site presence four days a week at Hearst offices in Glendale or Charlotte.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in digital video strategy or analytics.
• Experience programming or operating a major YouTube channel or network.
• Strong fluency in YouTube Studio analytics and measurement.
• Ability to translate metrics into creative direction.

Responsibilities

• Own Lucky Dog YouTube programming strategy, scheduling, and presentation.
• Define KPIs, automate reports, and implement platform standards.
• Automate weekly/monthly/quarterly reporting and deliver actionable insights.
• Support YouTube monetization with Brand Partnership tools and measurement best practices.
• Analyze viewership trends to inform content optimization.
• Develop strategies across YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Snap.
• Lead testing and translate results to creative/production teams.
• Improve library performance via playlist strategy and metadata refreshes.
• Socialize YouTube best practices across the organization.
• Coordinate with Content Operations on captions and publishing workflows.
• Flag monetization/rights issues early with stakeholders.
