Job summary

Community Youth Center of San Francisco (CYC) seeks a Program Specialist to coordinate and facilitate employment readiness workshops and career counseling for youth ages 16-24. The role emphasizes 1:1 guidance, college and career planning, and strong collaboration with local partners in a fast-paced, diverse environment.

Under supervision, you will build curricula, engage with employers, and coordinate services from GED support to college exploration.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience working with youth, preferably within youth workforce development programs.
• Bilingual in Spanish/Chinese and English is preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Good organizational and project management skills.
• Ability to work with ethnically diverse groups of low-income youth and English language learners.

Responsibilities

• Develop curriculum and facilitate job readiness training workshops including professionalism, career exploration, resume and cover letter building, job search/navigation, interview skills, mock interviews, and strengths/talent identification.
• Provide 1:1 career guidance and assist participants with education and career planning, job search and placement, and follow-ups for retention.
• Collaborate with the workforce team on program planning and outcomes.
• Lead youth outreach initiatives and develop a referral network to support recruitment and engagement.
• Coordinate GED attainment services and tutoring as needed.
• Cultivate relationships with employers to develop employment opportunities for youth.
• Complete required documentation and reports to meet funder compliance.
