Job summary

PHMC's Bridge Intensive Prevention Services (BIPS) seeks an Anti-Violence and Trauma Coordinator to support gun violence prevention and youth engagement in West Philadelphia. The role emphasizes trauma-informed care, case management, and building partnerships with schools, law enforcement, and community groups.

You will help implement a community mobilisation plan, coordinate on-site services and referrals, and travel to community locations to support youth and families affected by violence.

Qualifications

• Experience providing trauma-informed care to at-risk youth and families.
• Experience working with youth ages 10–19 and training in crisis intervention.
• Ability to travel to communities and hold a valid Pennsylvania driver's license.
• Knowledge of Philadelphia’s social service system and community resources.

Responsibilities

• Provide trauma-informed support to youth affected by gun violence.
• Deliver intensive case management, mentoring, and advocacy for youth at highest risk of violence.
• Mediate conflicts to reduce risk of violence and promote positive attitudes/behaviors.
• Collaborate with local partners to promote a consistent, community-wide message against gun violence.
• Build relationships with service providers, law enforcement, faith leaders, and community orgs to connect youth/families with resources.
• Develop and implement a community mobilisation plan engaging residents in violence prevention.
