Job summary

Pressley Ridge seeks a Community Support Specialist to assist transition-aged youth (16-21) in Maryland, helping them develop daily living skills while residing in community settings. The CSS operates within a team, documenting progress and supporting employment efforts for youth aging out of state systems.

Responsibilities include crisis intervention, life-skills instruction, stipend management, apartment safety checks, and coordination with leasing and staff.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• College coursework in Education, Human Services, Psychology, Social Work or Sociology; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Valid state driver's license, safe driving record, and current auto insurance.
• Requires two years of experience with participants in a community setting.
• Crisis intervention experience with active listening and de-escalation.
• State Police, FBI, Child Abuse Clearances and CPSL Mandated Reporter training.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily life skills to participants aged 16-21 in Maryland.
• Document daily communications to ensure safety and apartment security.
• Assist youth in obtaining employment or other income prior to age-out.
• Manage participant stipends, transit passes and clothing stipends.
• Complete apartment inspections, work orders and post-housing planning resources.
• Participate in monthly case plan meetings and individual treatment plan tasks.
• Provide crisis intervention and on-call backup as needed.
• Gathers program data and assists in summarizing information.
• Communicate information about youth to program staff.
• Document records in the Apricot system and complete required paperwork.
