Mead Public Library in Sheboygan is seeking an innovative Youth Services Manager to lead children and teen programs, staff supervision, and collection development. You will shape a forward-thinking vision for youth services that connects early literacy to community engagement and learning opportunities.

The role requires collaborating across the library and with external partners to ensure inclusive, high-quality programming while managing budgets and reporting outcomes to leadership.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS) from an ALA-accredited institution required.
• Minimum of three (3) years of supervising, training, and mentoring experience required, of youth services staff preferred.
• Completion of Arbinger Institute Training (leadership program) within one year of hire required.
• Completion of leadership training courses through CVMIC within two years of hire required.
• Demonstrated knowledge of child development, early literacy practice, and age-appropriate programming for children and teens required.
• Possession and maintenance of a valid driver's license and auto insurance in accordance with State of Wisconsin law required. May require use of personal vehicle while on the job.

Responsabilités

• Supervise Youth & Teen Services staff, including scheduling, coaching, and feedback.
• Recruitment, onboarding, training, and evaluation of assigned staff; prepare performance appraisals and support corrective action processes.
• Direct planning and evaluation of programming and services for children and teens; ensure developmentally appropriate offerings.
• Oversee collection development for youth and teen materials across formats; manage budgeting and vet inclusivity and relevance.
• Set and communicate a progressive vision for youth services; anticipate trends in early literacy, digital learning, and family engagement.
• Partner with library leadership to enforce policy and align goals with Mead Public Library and City of Sheboygan.
