Job summary

Pleasant Hill Public Library in Iowa is seeking a full-time Youth Services Librarian to coordinate programs, outreach, and services for children, teens, and caregivers. The role also manages collection development for youth materials and provides reference and readers' advisory support.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in a related field; MLS preferred; 2+ years of public library experience with supervisory duties; and Iowa Youth Services Endorsement within one year of hire.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in early childhood development, education, or related field required.
• Master of Library and Information Sciences preferred.
• Two or more years of public library experience with increasing responsibilities.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Must have or acquire State of Iowa Library Youth Services Endorsement within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and implement programs, outreach, and services for children, teens, and caregivers.
• Manage collection development for children's and teen materials.
• Provide quality reference, readers' advisory, and other library services.
• Collaborate with and supervise the Youth Outreach Specialist on a day-to-day basis.
• Report to the Library Director.
