Youth Off The Streets Limited is seeking passionate Youth Support Workers for casual positions within their Youth Transitional Hub. Ideal candidates will work directly with young people to deliver tailored programs aimed at enhancing their wellbeing and ensuring a secure environment. Qualifications

  • Understanding of Youth Support Officer roles.
  • Willingness to undertake relevant training.
  • Current Driver’s License and Blue Card required.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver programs including outreach, educational workshops, and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of young community members.

About us:

North West Queensland Indigenous Community Social Services Limited (NWQICSS) is a not-for-profit organization providing relief and support to Indigenous people in the region through sustainable programs. Our vision is to empower Indigenous communities towards pride, self-understanding, independence, and a full, meaningful life in North West Queensland.

The NWQICSS Youth Transitional Hub offers exciting opportunities for Youth Support Officers to join our growing team.

The Youth Support Officer will work with young people and community partners to deliver programs including outreach, educational workshops, and wellbeing initiatives tailored to local needs.

Our Youth Officers empower young visitors by providing a safe space for growth, learning, and voice, creating opportunities for disadvantaged youth.

As part of the Youth Hub team, you'll be responsible for ensuring the safety and wellbeing of young community members, positively impacting their physical, mental, and social health. We will support your development of leadership and life skills in a rewarding environment focused on making a difference.

Essential skills include:

  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Computer literacy and report writing abilities
  • Strong organizational and time management skills

Knowledge / Qualifications:

  • Certificate in Child, Youth, and Family Intervention preferred but not essential
  • Understanding of Youth Support Officer roles
  • Willingness to undertake relevant training
  • Current Driver’s License
  • Blue Card

Work Experience:

  • Experience as a Youth Support Officer or with children and youth preferred
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
