Job summary

The Home for Little Wanderers in Chelsea, MA seeks a FIT paraprofessional to support youth under 21 with SED/SUD/ASD/IDD within the CBHI framework. You will use trauma-informed approaches to implement treatment plans created by a master’s level clinician.

Responsibilities include coaching families, connecting them to community resources, and documenting progress notes in the EHR. Travel to home/community settings is required, with regular collaboration among the CBHI team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in the human services field.
• Personal experience as a parent/caregiver navigating child and family systems is a plus.
• Ability to communicate in a second language is advantageous.
• Proficient with computers and learning new software.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with CBHI services is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide caregivers with tools to advocate and navigate resources and child-serving systems.
• Coach families on strategies for emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs.
• Explain child development, parenting strategies, and trauma-related topics.
• Maintain progress notes in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
• Collaborate with CBHI teams, families, and other supports.
• Deliver home/community-based visits as required.

Skills

Bilingual: Spanish or Haitian Creole
