YMCA of Greater San Francisco seeks a Youth Support Specialist to provide youth support services, crisis intervention, case management, and family outreach for middle and high school students. The role manages a caseload, facilitates youth groups, and collaborates with school staff and community partners.

The position is scheduled Monday through Friday during school hours, generally 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with occasional evenings or weekends and SFUSD calendar adjustments.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of trauma-informed care, restorative justice practices, and adolescent development.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to connect with youth and families.
• Able to pass a background check and employment verification.
• TB Test clearance within last 2 years.
• Current CPR/First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Reliable means of transportation to travel between program locations.

Responsabilités

• Serve as primary responder for behavioral incidents using de-escalation and crisis intervention techniques.
• Mediate disputes between students and between students and staff using restorative practices.
• Build trusting relationships with youth to help them feel safe and engaged.
• Monitor campus areas and student transitions to address safety concerns.
• Manage active caseloads, maintain case files and progress notes.
• Coordinate with teachers, counselors and staff to implement support plans.
• Engage families as partners in student success and participate in meetings.
• Maintain records and ensure confidentiality and compliance with policies.
