Job summary

YMCA of Greater San Francisco is seeking an After School Program Leader to provide engaging, inclusive activities for elementary and middle school youth. You will design curricula, support tutoring, and supervise groups with a focus on safety and positive development.

The role requires a 3:30 PM–6:00 PM schedule, Monday–Friday, with a 9/8/2026–6/16/2027 program window. Competitive hourly pay with strong emphasis on teamwork and youth support in a community-centered environment.

Qualifications

• 18+ for elementary programs; 21+ for middle school programs.
• Associate’s degree or higher, or High School diploma/equivalent with 48+ college units verified by transcript.
• Passing CBEST or District Instructional Aide Exam.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Knowledge of youth development principles.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement engaging, inclusive curricula reflecting developmental stages and cultural backgrounds of youth.
• Facilitate academic enrichment, tutoring, and structured outdoor recreational activities.
• Partner with staff, caregivers, and participants to plan and enhance program offerings.
• Supervise groups of up to 20 students, ensuring a safe, supportive environment per safety protocols.
