Children & Families First in Delaware seeks a part-time Residential Counselor to supervise residents and support daily routines within the Behavior Modification Program. You will guide daily activities and monitor progress to ensure residents’ safety and well-being.

The role includes counseling, crisis intervention, meal supervision, documentation, and collaboration with staff. Overnight shifts and transportation duties may be required; confidentiality and safety are essential.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED required; related experience considered.
• Associate degree preferred in Human Services or related field.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Forty hours of annual training including Medication Administration, CPR, First Aid, Passive Physical Restraint, and Crisis Control Techniques.

Responsabilidades

• Supervise residents daily routine per program schedule.
• Counsel residents on living skills and crisis intervention as needed.
• Prepare meals and monitor food selection during meals; follow inventory procedures.
• Document resident performance and behavior; chart progress.
• Lead and participate in recreational and art therapy activities; assist in planning programs.
• Communicate with staff and update progress notes; manage overnight communications.
• Perform emergency drills as needed.
• Drive residents to medical, dental, and other appointments.
• Monitor resident movement during trips and privilege utilization.
• Follow program policies; manage inventory and equipment appropriately.
• Maintain confidentiality, quality, and productivity.
• Serve on staff committees and/or assist as assigned.
• May supervise residents in self-administration of medications.
