North County Lifeline seeks a SUD Counselor for its Youth Development program in Oceanside, CA. The role provides SUD education and counseling to middle and high school youth, and conducts prevention forums for parents and community members.

Requirements include California SUD Counselor certification, two years in the field, and bilingual English/Spanish. You will coordinate with case managers and clinicians to support treatment progress.

Competenze

• Certified in the state of California as a SUD Counselor.
• 2 years' experience in substance abuse and/or counseling.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
• Must possess the ability to make sound decisions independently.

Mansioni

• Provide strength-based and culturally sensitive SUD education and counseling services to youth at schools, parents/caregivers and community members at Oceanside Community Resource Centers, and at other community settings.
• Helps clients to identify and connect to activities that would positively impact their social, leadership and coping skills, as well as their physical, mental and emotional health.
• Screen youth utilizing the Substance Abuse Subtle Screening Inventory (SASSI).
• Communicates regularly with the Youth Development Case Managers, Clinicians, regarding client SUD treatment
• Other duties as assigned.
