Job summary

BestCare is seeking an Adolescent SUD Counselor to provide evidence-based individual and group counseling to youth in our program, using trauma-informed, harm-reduction approaches. You will also work with families, maintain compliance with OARs, and serve as a community liaison for youth behavioral health resources.

The role requires a high school diploma and appropriately progressive certifications; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus. Driver's license and insurability are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Continuous recovery for the previous two years if in recovery at hire.

Responsibilities

• Manages assigned caseload of adolescent clients with Treatment Team.
• Conducts comprehensive intakes and assessments using ASAM criteria.
• Develops individualized treatment plans with clients and families.
• Delivers individual, group, and family counseling; provides case management.
• Leads adolescent-focused psycho-educational and recovery groups.
• Provides crisis intervention and safety planning as needed.
• Refers to youth-serving services and coordinates care with partners.
• Engages families respectfully while protecting privacy rights.
• Coordinates discharge planning and aftercare with clients, families and partners.
• Maintains HIPAA and regulatory documentation and compliance.
