Genesis House in Oceanside, CA seeks a Counselor I – SUD to provide client-centered counseling, case management, and recovery support within a residential program. The role involves assessments, individual/group sessions, care coordination, and adherence to regulatory/documentation requirements.

The position supports a structured, therapeutic environment and requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to promote recovery and community functioning. Valid CA driver license may be required.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of related work in substance use disorder or behavioral health.
• Current AOD counselor registration with a DHCS-approved certifying organization.
• Knowledge of addiction and treatment modalities.
• Basic computer skills and Avatar EMR proficiency.
• Strong verbal and written communication.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct ASAM assessments and make level-of-care recommendations with LPHA input.
• Develop and update care plans and documentation in required systems.
• Discharge and aftercare planning tailored to client needs.
• Maintain timely, accurate documentation of services provided.
• Assist in medication support and related procedures as required.
• Coordinate referrals to social services and housing resources.
• Participate in supervision, meetings, and trainings as scheduled.
• Ensure confidentiality per HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and agency policy.
