Job summary

North County Lifeline, Inc. in Vista, CA is seeking a bilingual SUD Counselor to support our True Life Recovery Program for adolescents.

The role involves screening referrals, delivering education, individual and group services, and engaging families in a culturally respectful, trauma-informed setting. You will work across school sites and community locations, coordinating with a multidisciplinary team to provide early intervention and outpatient services for youth and families dealing with

Qualifications

• Bilingual in English/Spanish is required.
• Registered in California as a SUD Counselor or able to register within 30 days.
• At least 2 years of related experience in substance use counseling.
• Knowledge of Cognitive Behavioral Interventions, DBT, or Seeking Safety is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Responds to service requests from schools and community partners and conducts screenings and intakes.
• Provides education, individual services, and group sessions using evidence-based curricula.
• Facilitates family engagement, case management, and tobacco cessation education.
• Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to plan monthly program activities.
• Completes progress notes per county guidelines and in SmartCare EHR.
• Delivers outreach and presentations on SUD and early intervention to students, parents, and staff.
• Attends staff and stakeholder meetings and trainings.
• Utilizes trauma-informed, client-centered, culturally respectful approaches.
