Job summary

Woodcraft Rangers seeks a STEM Specialist in Moreno Valley to join its Learning Team. The role develops and delivers engaging, hands-on STEM experiences for youth, covering science, engineering, robotics, coding, gardening, and 3D printing, aligned with program needs and state standards.

As a full-time, non-exempt employee reports to the STEM Manager, you will collaborate with curriculum writers and Club Leaders, update the curriculum library, deliver trainings, and help tools and resources

Qualifications

  • AA Degree in STEM preferred or minimum one year of experience as a group leader working with children and six units in child development.
  • Enthusiastic to work well with youth development staff and/or youth.
  • Good oral and written communication.
  • Ability to travel to various Woodcraft Rangers locations (regional travel).
  • Computer literacy and willingness to learn.
  • Stable Internet Access.
  • Valid LIVE Scan.

Responsibilities

  • Research best practices in youth development to inform content development.
  • Maintain and provide ongoing updates to the curriculum library and ensure communication for cycle plans is consistent.
  • Identify and coordinate potential partners that would provide curriculum for staff.
  • Implement STEM content trainings for Woodcraft Rangers club leaders.
  • Development of program support tools and resources as needed.
  • Work with Associate Director of Learning to set targets, manage projects, and evaluate progress and impact.
  • Work with Learning Team to align best practices and guide collective efforts.
  • Develop new activities and adapt existing curriculum to meet the needs of specialty programs.
  • Help create assessment tools to monitor implementation of activities.
  • Consult with specialty enrichment Club Leaders to develop new curriculum.
  • Develop curriculum for assigned grade levels and subjects, adhering to state and national standards.
  • Participate in staff development training as required, approximately 40 hours / year.
  • Ensure program compliance and program quality are met according to funding, partner and WR guidelines and requirements.
