Job summary

The Torigian Family YMCA in Peabody, MA is seeking a dynamic Programming & Sports Director to lead youth and sports programs, build relationships with members, volunteers, and staff, and advance mission-based programming. The role emphasizes innovative program design, staff supervision, and collaboration with other branch directors.

The position requires flexible scheduling, including evenings and weekends, and reports to the Senior Director or Youth Development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in sports education or related field or equivalent.
• Minimum age of 21.
• 2–5 years related experience preferred.
• Ability to relate effectively with diverse groups.

Responsibilities

• Reflect YMCA core standards: Youth Development, Healthy Living, Social Responsibility.
• Provide excellent member service and exceed member expectations.
• Engage with members to understand goals and assist in achieving them.
• Design conditioning programs, including for participants with special needs.
• Review programs, provide feedback, and follow up.
• Educate on cardiovascular equipment and training levels.
• Teach youth on strength training principles and techniques.
• Supervise and encourage during training sessions.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings.
• Carry out related responsibilities and promote growth of mind and spirit.
• Remain current in required trainings.
