Job summary

Merrimack Valley YMCA is seeking an experienced Youth & Teen Director for the Lawrence, MA branch. The role leads youth, teen, and family programming, oversees staff and volunteers, and manages budgets to deliver engaging, safe programs aligned with the YMCA mission.

Responsibilities include coordinating program operations, ensuring safety and compliance, and contributing to marketing, fundraising, and events. Evening and weekend hours are required as part of a rotating schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent.
• One year minimum related experience in leading and/or instructing youth and/or family programs.
• Computer literate with MS Windows, Excel, Word, Outlook and database management.
• Ability to obtain CPR/AED and First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Organize and manage youth, teen and family programming.
• Recruit, hire, train, develop, schedule and direct staff and volunteers.
• Develop and monitor annual program budgets and enrollment goals.
• Support Health and Wellness on Youth Sports programs.
• Ensure compliance with state and local regulations and safety procedures.
• Lead communication and provide leadership with staff, members, program participants and volunteers.
• Purchase supplies and manage inventory.
• Coordinate gymnasium schedule and compile program statistics.
• Assist in marketing, program information distribution, fundraising and events.
• Perform building coverage on a rotating schedule (evenings and weekends).
