Job summary

The Torigian Family YMCA in Peabody, MA is seeking an energetic Programs & Sports Director to lead our youth and sports initiatives. This full-time role involves planning, developing, implementing, expanding, and evaluating programs to fulfill the YMCA’s mission while engaging staff, volunteers, and members.

The ideal candidate will have 1–2+ years of leadership experience, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to recruit and coach staff.

Qualifications

• 1–2+ years of experience leading staff and/or volunteers.
• Experience leading youth and sports programs (basketball, soccer, etc.) preferred.
• CPR/First Aid/AED certification required within 90 days.
• Strong ability to recruit, retain, and coach staff.
• Able to work non-traditional hours including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, development, implementation, expansion and evaluation of youth and sports programs.
• Engage staff, volunteers, and participants to grow mission-based programs.
• Coordinate with branch programs to maximize involvement.
• Ensure safety and program quality; monitor participant outcomes.
