Job summary

YMCA of Greater Boston at Oak Square YMCA seeks a Family and Sports Program Director to lead youth and family programs, oversee sports and enrichment activities, and drive community-oriented initiatives. The role reports to the Associate Executive Director or Senior Program Director and emphasizes safety, inclusivity, and alignment with the Y's mission.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in human services / health sciences or related field.
Minimum 3 years’ experience working with youth and families.
Two years of experience supervising and developing staff and volunteer teams.
Demonstrated understanding of the developmental progression of skills of children and program development.
Sports coaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Ensure programs meet community needs, supervise activities, and expand programs per plans.
Assist in marketing and distribution of program information.
Manage rosters, enrollment and reporting; evaluate program effectiveness.
Recruit and hire diverse staff/volunteers; train and develop teams.
Build relationships with community organizations; maintain clear communications.
Develop and monitor budgets to meet fiscal objectives.
Secure facilities and schedule classes, activities, or events.
Provide 10–15 hours per week of direct service instruction/facilitation.
